Women’s Days of Hope (DOH) Program has been a ministry of Jesus House since 2008. The DOH Program benefits the women currently residing at Limen House (Level III/II Sober Living Residence) and Sojourners’ Place (a transitional homeless shelter), as well as alumni that have successfully completed programs from those facilities.

DOH hosts 20 - 30 women at our monthly dinners and evening programs and weekend retreats.  The women look forward to attending the programs which include a nutritious meal, a mindfulness practice, a spiritual and educational element, an activity or art element, and sharing. The level of participation and sharing is phenomenal. We have been told that DOH programs have been an important part of the women's recovery process.

The mission of DOH is to create spirit-inspired connections to help women rediscover, restore, and re-awaken their true selves. Through shared experiences, the women have an opportunity to rediscover their God-given dignity and see their values as part of the human community…our hope is to inspire hope and personal transformation. The programs are designed to nurture mind, body and spirit and help the women navigate changes, challenges, and choices in their lives.

Congratulations Pat Debski and Cindy Mooney

Recently there was a awardee dinner sponsored by Sojourners Place in honor of two Resurrection parishioners whose leadership created the Days of Hope program for homeless women,. Cindy Mooney and Patty Debski (pictured above) were the awardees and got the Dr. Matthew Shipp Community Leadership Award for their service to Sojourners..

DOH began in 2008 from a vision that Angie Malmgren and Sr. Kaye Shinham had about offering retreats for the women from Sojourners’ Place. As it happened Cindy Mooney volunteered to spearhead the group in 2008. Days of Hope began with Angie, Kaye, Cindy, Pat among other women that facilitated retreats and monthly programs that expanded to the work with the women of Limen House a few years later.

"Seeing the women participate in this program over the course of the year, I found them building up their self-confidence, and getting comfortable expressing their own spiritual beliefs, which they have not looked at, or thought about, for a really long time."
