Jesus House Offerings
Days of Hope
Women’s Days of Hope (DOH) Program has been a ministry of Jesus House since 2008. The DOH Program benefits the women currently residing at Limen House (Level III Sober Living Residence) and Sojourners’ Place (a transitional homeless shelter), as well as alumni that have successfully completed programs from those facilities.
DOH hosts 20 - 30 women at our monthly dinners and evening programs and weekend retreats. The women look forward to attending the programs which include a nutritious meal, a mindfulness practice, a spiritual and educational element, an activity or art element, and sharing. The level of participation and sharing is phenomenal. We have been told that DOH programs have been an important part of the women's recovery process.
My husband, Chris and I, are the founders of Jesus House Prayer & Renewal Center, a sacred space for spiritual seekers. I offer Spiritual Direction, as well as manage the Program Development to ensure Jesus House provides offerings, retreats and reflection days that will enhance one's spiritual growth.
I believe that God is already present in the directee and my role is to walk with this person and listen with both ears and heart and be attentive to the movement of the Spirit within them. So, I’m not directing the person, and my deepest understanding is that the Holy Spirit is the Director in our midst. I’m there as a partner of Spirit, to invite silence, when appropriate, and to ask a question, when appropriate, that would lead to more exploration by the directee.
