Our Board of Directors is committed to sharing their gifts, talents, and expertise to support Jesus House Society's Mission and Vision. By guiding our major initiatives and strategic decisions, they help us best utilize our resources to provide a sacred space for spiritual seekers.

Susan Booker : Mrs. Booker is the Board Secretary and Development Manager for SmartDrive.  More recently, Mrs. Booker served as Director of Development for St. Paul’s Church and School in Wilmington, and as Campus Minister at Ursuline Academy.  Currently, Mrs. Booker is acting President and member of the Board of Directors for the Mass for the Homeless/Music With A Mission, a Centennial Committee Member of the Music School of Delaware, and a member of the Ursuline Associates.

Jose Burgos:  Operations Mgr. @ Everfast Inc. Jesus House Board Member for 10 yrs. including cooking for Jesus House retreats and managing the key facilities projects.  Married to Pam. 3 children, 5 grandchildren.


Jim Delaney: Retired Technical Manager for BASF/Ciba; Volunteered at Jesus House, Delaware Food Bank, Richey School, Emmanuel Dining Room; Resurrection Parish member; Masters degree in Chemistry; Married to Anita and have 2 sons.

Patty Zaza: was born in Wilmington, Delaware and attended St. Helena's and then Padua Academy. She graduated from University of Delaware in 1979 with a Nursing degree. She worked in the nursing specialties of Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Infusion nursing for over 40 years and retired in 2019 after 32 years at Christiana Hospital. She is a member at Resurrection Parish and has served on Parish Council, Outreach and was the Chair of Parish and Family Life for many years. Currently she participates in the Outreach Ministry at Resurrection by growing vegetables at the Resurrection garden and delivery to Limen House, Epiphany House and St. Paul's.

She participated in CRHP retreat at the Jesus House in the 80's and continues to support the mission at the Jesus House in promoting spiritual growth through retreats, spiritual direction and community outreach to those most in need, whether it be the homeless, grieving or those needing help with addictions. She participated in the Just Faith Ministry and was involved for years doing tax prep (EITC) for low income families.

She is married to Tony for 41 years and has one daughter, Tina and 2 grandchildren, 3 and 5 yrs old.

Julian H. (Pete) Booker: Pete was born in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Tatnall School and graduated from Thomas Mc Kean High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Delaware. 

His 46-year broadcasting career included positions as an on-air performer programmer, station manager and company executive in Wilmington, Philadelphia, Detroit and Virginia. He retired from the position of President/CEO of Delmarva Broadcasting in 2015. 

Pete has served as the Executive Director of the SmartDrive Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization he founded in 2004 that is dedicated to improving the driving skills of teen drivers. Over 200,000 students in more than 130 schools in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and South Carolina have engaged with SmartDrive in 16 years of operation.

In January 2019, Pete assumed the position of Executive Director of the Delaware Safety Council, Inc., Delaware’s premier safety and security training and advocacy organization for 100 years! The Safety Council provides driver safety, workplace safety and family safety and security training. SmartDrive is now a program of Delaware Safety Council. Pete also maintains a media consultation practice and performs with Kathie Martin & The Hot Rods, a pop-rock oldies band.

Pete has been married since 1976 to Susan Nicholson Booker. They have two children: Dr. Hilary, who runs a life-skills and wholistic living practice, and Julian, who owns a live and studio sound production business and is a radio personality and programmer at WXPN-FM in Philadelphia.

Steve Peeke

Regional Sales Manager for American Solutions for Business
University of Delaware Finance Graduate
Steve works on Fundraising, Jesus House Golf Tournaments, etc. and has been a board member for 8 years.
Steve is married to Kathi, an APN at Ai Dupont Hospital for Children. He has 3 children, a son Stephen and daughters Caroline and Olivia.
